He has also worked for 12 years as a global higher education consultant with universities in Canada, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and across the Middle East. Previously, Mark worked at the UCL Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT) at University College London (UCL) for eight years, where he worked with faculty and university administrators to develop strategies to enhance the student learning experience.
He is an Ed Tech Entrepreneur and the co-founder of IIAD Global – an education innovation company that works with schools, colleges, universities to generate alternative streams of revenue through the establishment of satellite campuses and online learning programs. In partnership with a college in January 2018 his company launched a new and innovative 2-year diploma in software development and technology entrepreneurship that brings the real world into the classroom. The program uses a pre-designed digital project-based curriculum to teach college students to be software developers while learn how to launch their own tech companies. More recently, with an education consortium in China he designed a new education framework, that uses a spiral competency-based curriculum, where students are taught advanced thinking processes and the Lean Methodology where learning happens through the synergistic processes of build, measure and learn.
His previous roles have given him an in-depth knowledge of quality assurance and validation processes and using his unique approaches to course and curriculum design he continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the design of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. He has worked with many university faculties, departments and program teams on innovating their teaching and assessment systems to enhance student learning and satisfaction.
